6. How will Internet shoppers find my Website?

It's important that you shouldn't expect to simply put up a Website and think that all you have to do is wait around for orders. In fact, we recommend that you use your Website in addition to other marketing methods. A Website requires the same kind of advertising and promotion as any other business before it can generate income, and the customers you gain through other methods can go on to become excellent Web customers as well. Once you've got traffic coming to your Website, your Website becomes your 24-hour-a-day, 7-day-a-week online storefront! Your target audience should be your existing customers from your established SMC® business. We don't encourage relying solely on the Internet for customers. 7. Do I need any special software to get started?

10. How will customers purchase from my Website?

Your customers can select items, add them to their virtual shopping cart and pay for them at a "checkout" where all the items will be totaled, sales tax added when applicable, and payment information received. For your customers, it's a simple, straightforward online shopping environment -easy as point-and-click ! This technology alone, purchased elsewhere, can be as much as the cost of an entire eMerchantClub website.

11. What kind of security do you provide for online transactions?

We currently use the Internet standard of 128-bit SSL encryption. Your customers will have a secure environment in which to submit their credit card number.

12. What happens when a shopper places an order?

Your shopper will receive an email receipt. You will receive an email confirmation of the shopper's order. You can send this order online directly to SMC®'s fulfillment center through eMerchantClub's internal operators or call EMC for processing. The order will then be shipped to your customer (except internationally). The order will be saved in your Site Manager -orders page. You can use the “submit order ” link to quickly send the order to SMC®.

13. How do I change the graphics in my Website?

You can customize your Website by adding a new logo or doorway page, changing the banners for every holiday , and varying the style, color , and layout through the Site Manager. Using the “upload file ” option , you can upload your images and use your Site Manager tools to make changes.

15. What is the Site Manager?

The Site Manager is an easy-to-use, all-purpose control panel where you can manage virtually every aspect of your website. With this feature, you can alter the text and images that are viewed by your customers, refashion the colors and style of the site, and add or change the departments or products displayed on your store.

The Site Manager is also where you can set up your promotions and implement vital marketing tools , such as pop -up windows and gift certificates. Here you can view your shoppers' data, details about the orders placed on your website, and feedback from your shoppers.

This tool enables even the most novice user to make advanced modifications in a few easy clicks. It also gives you a number of links for free support , such as Live Chat (the online version of this manual ), the SMCorp website, and much more.

1. How do I change my password?

Click on Site Security in your Site Manager. Type in your user name, current password, and new password. You may change your password as often as you'd like.

2. I can't seem to login. Am I typing in my information correctly?

Enter your member number but do not type in the numbers after the dash in your member number. Your password is 6 characters long. If you set up your Smcorp.com login more than 24 hours ago and still can't log in, please contact technical support at: 1-877-384-4691.

Merchant Account Answers:

1. Which payment options can I offer for sales on my website?

We offer merchant account and gateway services and we recommend both for your Website. With a merchant account and gateway, you can accept credit cards or eCheck payments through your Website and they will be processed automatically in real-time. Without a gateway, you would will need to use your phone to process credit cards once the orders have been placed.

As another alternative, we offer PayPal integration . You and your shoppers will need a PayPal account in order to make purchases through your online store. You can have both a Merchant Account/Gateway and PayPal on your Website to offer your customers more payment options (on the latest model only).

2. What are the rates I will be charged for owning a merchant account?

3. How do I receive the payments from my orders?

It depends on whether you have PayPal, a Merchant Account, a Gateway, or none of the above. If you have a Merchant Account/Gateway, the funds will automatically be transferred into the account you ’ve specified when setting up the accounts. If you choose PayPal, the money will be deposited into the account you ’ve specified with PayPal.

5. Will I need to purchase additional equipment?

No additional equipment is necessary. However, if you do a lot of off-line business, such as flea markets, you may want to purchase a credit card terminal. Contact your merchant account provider for more information on this hardware.

1. To which Search Engines do you submit my site?

These are the major search engines that we manually submit your website to. There are other minor search engines that we submit as well using an automated software.

2. It has been past the 8-10 weeks of time frame you specified in your confirmation mail and my website still has not been indexed. What’s going on?

Search Engines regularly change their algorithm in picking websites to include in their index and how to rank them. When the process of adding submitted websites to their index takes longer, it is usually a shift in their rules. If this ever happens, we will continue submitting your site but it might take a little longer depending on when the search engines would resume their indexing.
